The two illustrious winners of this 2024 edition of the Super Prix Grand Bâtisseur – Babacar Ndiaye Trophy will receive their distinctions on May 30, 2024 in Nairobi, Kenya, during the Final Conference which will be held on the sidelines of the Annual Meetings of the African Development Bank
“Quality of road infrastructure and development of Africa”, it is on this theme that the members of the Selection Committee of The Africa Road Builders met in Dubai, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, on April 18, 2024. Babacar Ndiaye Trophy to decide the winners of the 2024 edition.
Having meticulously assessed the quality of road infrastructure across the continent, drawing on the 2024 report of the Media Network for Infrastructure and Finance in Africa, (Mifa), as well as public reports from international institutions and organizations regarding roads and transport in Africa, the selection committee has decided to reward two distinguished winners for the Grand Builder Super Prize – Babacar Ndiaye Trophy 2024.
The lucky winners are Their Excellencies, Messrs. Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, President of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea and Denis Sassou-Nguesso, President of the Republic of Congo.
The selection committee was thus impressed by the exceptional leadership, his commitment to sustainable development and his remarkable achievements in the field of road infrastructure in his country of President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo.
Also, recognizes the commitment to the development of road infrastructure and the unwavering determination to stimulate the economic development of Congo Denis of President Sassou-Nguesso.
These two personalities succeed to this prestigious distinction Andry Rajoelina, President of the Republic of Madagascar.
“ The Selection Committee congratulates His Excellency Mr. Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo and His Excellency Mr. Denis Sassou-Nguesso for their remarkable achievements in road infrastructure and invites them to receive their trophies on May 30, 2024 in Nairobi, Kenya, during the Final Conference which will be held on the sidelines of the Annual Meetings of the African Development Bank (AfDB) ,” Writes the selection committee in a Press Release.
In addition to these two personalities, structures working in the achievement of road infrastructure on the continent were distinguished in the 2024 Builders Trophies category. These include, among others, Safer, (Togo); Ageroute, (Ivory Coast), Porteo BTP, (Ivory Coast), Rubis Asphalt.
